With its completely new profile design, the Minion DHR II is the ideal tire for aggressive gravity riding. With the side knobs of the legendary DHF, which have been slightly widened for even better cornering, it has extreme cornering grip. The center knobs have beveled knobs for better acceleration. Notches on the knobs improve the transition when turning into corners. Some of the center knobs have a paddle shape; they dig in when braking hard and help keep the bike under control.

The downhill tires have 2 reinforced carcass layers with a buty insert in the sidewall and are therefore very resistant to cuts and punctures
Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special casing construction optimizes the profile layout and the tire shape on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and have a shape that is too square on wide rims and therefore do not perform optimally.
WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 40 mm.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for installation with sealant than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of our TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless installation is successful on all rims with standard dimensions from the first inflation and with little liquid. Normal MAXXIS MTB tires can also be installed tubeless with sealant, like tires from other manufacturers, because the carcass fabric is very dense. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless installation and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless installation of other models is at your own risk.
Dual Ply Casing
Two combined fabric layers are wrapped around bead cores. This creates an extremely stable and safe carcass, which is particularly important for downhill riding. This is four-ply on the sidewalls and six-ply on the treads.
3C Maxx Grip
The well-known 3C downhill compound, which many of the best downhillers have trusted for years, is now called 3C MaxxGrip. 3C MaxxGrip offers the ultimate grip and the best damping properties for incomparable traction on downhills.
